Great Britain, 20.9.1935 - 5.10.2000 British novelist, poet and artist. Born in Kettering (Northamptonshire). Graduated from Leicester College of Fine Arts, worked as an illustrator and animator. He made his debut in science fiction in 1964 with the story "Anita". The first novel is The Furies (1966). Roberts` second novel, Pavane (1968), made him one of the most famous British science fiction writers. Also published under the pseudonyms Alistair Bevan, John Kingston, David Stringer. Died of pneumonia
