Bear Grylls (Edward Michael Grylls) was born: June 7, 1974, Bembridge, Isle of Wight, UK. British traveler, television presenter and writer. Best known for his TV program "Survive at Any Cost". Grills lived in Donahady (Northern Ireland) until he was four years old, until his family moved to Bembridge, Isle of Wight. He is the son of Conservative politician Sir Michael Grills and Sally Grills (née Sarah Ford). His maternal grandparents were Patricia Ford, Member of Parliament for the Ulster Unionist Party, and professional cricketer Neville Ford. He had one brother and an older sister, Lara Fawcett. Grills attended Ludgrove School, Eaton College and the University of London. From an early age, he was involved in rock climbing and sailing with his father. As a teenager, he also earned a black belt in Shotokan Karate (and is now practicing yoga and ninjutsu). He speaks English, Spanish and French. Grills is a Christian, he calls faith the foundation of his life. Grills married Shara Grills (née Cannings Knight) in 2000. They have three children: Jesse (born June 10, 2003), Marmaduke (born April 6, 2006), and Huckleberry (born January 15, 2009 by vivo at Grylls` houseboat). Author`s site http://www.beargrylls.com
