A book by Dennis Lehane

Dennis Lehane American writer of Irish descent. Born August 4, 1965 and raised in Dorchester, pc. Massachusetts, which in the 1970s was a city on the brink of civil war. Subsequently, Dennis Lehane made this suburb of Boston the setting for his works. His parents emigrated from Ireland. Dennis was the youngest child in a large family. Studied at Boston College High School (Boston Jesuit Preparatory School), Eckerd College and Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Before becoming a professional writer, he worked as a bookstore salesman, parking valet, limousine driver, and mentally handicapped child consultant. In 1990 he began writing short stories. Leahine`s debut novel, A Sip Before Battle, was released in 1994 and won the Shamus award (given for creating an interesting private detective). However, this novel was written earlier, back in 1991, when Dennis was a college student. Lehane works in a hard-boiled style, recognizing the influence on his work of another Boston master of the detective genre - Robert Parker. Most of the writer`s novels are part of a series about Dorchester detectives Patrick Kenzie and Angie Ginnaro. Lehane lives in Boston and St.

Petersburg, Florida, where he teaches at Eckerd College, where he studied himself. In addition to writing novels, he writes scripts, and is the author of three episodes of The Wire (seasons three, four and five). He is currently developing a television show about Boston in the 1970s. The off-series novel "Mystic river" was filmed in 2002 by Clint Eastwood. In 2007, the novel "Gone, Baby, Gone" was filmed by Ben Affleck for his directorial debut. In addition to the Shamus award, Leahine`s books have received Anthony, Dilys and Nero Wolfe awards. Materials from sites - Detective. Declaration of love , Wiki , Interview: Dennis Lehane (The Guardian) .  Bibliography Series Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro - Patrick Kenzie 1994 - 1.
