Widowed Inspector Peter Diamond is being pursued by a secret admirer as he pursues a serial killer. Delia Williamson, a mother of two young girls who works as a waitress, is first reported missing by her own mother. She is found in a public park, hanged from the crossbar of a children`s swing set. There seems to be no reason for her to have committed suicide, and the postmortem reveals that she was murdered. Her present partner, her ex-husband, and a traveling salesman who dined at her table in the restaurant where she worked, are all suspects. Then her former husband is found in a cave, also hanged. A remorse suicide? Diamond doesn`t think so. When a well-to-do couple is found dead, both hanged, a suicide pact is suggested. Diamond is dubious; too many couples are dying by the same method. Before he can figure out what is going on, one more person will die.

Peter Lovsey (Lavsey, English Peter Harmer Lovesey ) Nickname - Peter Lear (English Peter Lear ) British writer, author of historical and police detective stories, stories about modern times. Peter Lovsey was born on September 10, 1936 in the suburb of London - Witton, Middlesex. Graduated from Hampton School and the University of Reading. Peter`s childhood coincided with the difficult years of World War II, as the writer himself writes, the most memorable moment was the hit of a bomb on their house, but the family miraculously survived. In the postwar years, Peter, encouraged by his father, shows an interest in athletics. But school and university studies contributed to a shift in interest in literature. After university, Lovsi joined the army, where he served as a pilot in the Royal Air Force for 3 years. In 1961, Peter began lecturing at Thurrock College in Essex. In 1969 he was appointed Head of Education at Hammersmith College London, where he remained until 1975. Peter was interested in sports during Victorian England, and his first book, Kings of Distance (1968), chronicled the lives and athletic careers of five of the leading runners of the past. He is best known for two characters: Sergeant Cribb, a Victorian detective in London, and Peter Diamond, a modern-day Bath Police investigator. The hero of several books Lavsey became a very real person - Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, who later became King Edward VII. In the novels, he is referred to as Bertie. Lovsey`s debut novel, Wobble To Death, was written in a competition announced by The Times in 1969 with a prize pool of £ 1,000. It was the money that spurred Peter to continue writing. He used his Victorian knowledge to write novels, and also carefully studied the research of Henry Keating, Julian Simons, Edmond Crispin and John Dixon Carr. Peter Lovsey`s novels take the form of entertaining puzzles carefully styled after classic detective stories. But instead of recreating the spirit of a bygone era, the author writes them from a modern point of view. Peter Lovsey publishes both under his real name and under the pseudonym Peter Lear. Lovsi is the author of a significant number of non-serial detective stories, some of which came out under a pseudonym. Lavsey was elected Chairman of the UK Detective Writers Association (1991-1992). Among his awards: Barry, Macavity, Anthony, 3 Silver and 1 Gold daggers, the French Detective Grand Prix and the French Adventure Literature Prize. In 2000, Lovsi was awarded the Cartier Diamond Dagger Award for Contribution to the Detective Genre. Some of Lovsi`s works have been filmed. The writer lives in Chichester. His son, Phil Lovsey, also writes detective stories. The official site of the writer is peterlovesey.com .  Detective. Declaration of love , Detective method , Wikipedia , Wikipedia (en.)
