Robert Sawyer`s website on the Internet was recently recognized as the “Best Author`s Site”. Sawyer lives and works in Toronto, the capital of the Canadian province of Ontario. Science fiction stories began to be published in the 1980s, but as a novelist he only made his name in the 1990s, gaining immense success. Sawyer`s first five novels received favorable reviews from critics and readers, and The Deadly Experiment (TPE Terminal Experiments, 1995) won the Nebula Prize. Of the next seven novels, four were nominated for a Hugo Award. The 2000 bestselling novel Calculating God (2000) was based on the hypothesis of what would happen if there were strong scientific evidence for the existence of God. In the next novel "Hominids" ("Hominids", 2002), an alternative world is described in which people became extinct, and only the Neanderthals remained of the intelligent creatures on Earth. Sawyer works in the genre of hard science fiction, following the tradition of Isaac Asimov: he is more interested in ideas than style, and, as a rule, he builds plots on the interweaving of complex moral and ethical issues. Recently, Sawyer has paid much less attention to small prose than to large, but all of it is extremely interesting.  Official website , Wikipedia .
