Gary Brandner (May 31, 1933 - September 23, 2013) is an American horror writer best known for his werewolf-themed trilogy Howl. The first book in the series was filmed in 1981. The second and third novels of the series, published in 1979 and 1985, respectively, have nothing to do with the film series, although he did co-write the second film. Walker`s novel was filmed for television. He also wrote the screenplay for the horror film Cameron`s Wardrobe (1988). Harry was born in the Midwest and traveled a lot. He has published over 30 novels, over 100 short stories, and has also written screenplays. After graduating from the University of Washington, he worked as an amateur boxer, bartender, surveyor, credit company investigator, advertising copywriter, editor, before turning to fiction. Brandner lived with his wife, Martin Wood, in Reno, Nevada....
