Dave Wolverton (English Dave Wolverton ; 1957) - American science fiction writer, also writes fantasy works under the pseudonym David Farland ([i ] David Farland ). Born in Oregon in 1957. He managed to change many typical writing professions: he was a prison guard, missionary, manager, technical writer and baker. Wolverton began writing fiction in the eighties as a competitive writer: he was in college at the time and the prize money was a big boon. His then-winning Writers of the Future Grand Prize kicked off Wolverton`s science fiction career, which has propelled him into countless science fiction and fantasy novels and dozens of short fiction writers, and has become a New York Times bestseller. "On My Way to Paradise" is Wolverton`s very first novel. Meanwhile, this work received a "special mention" ("special citation") "Philip K.

Dick Award" -1990, received the "Writers of the Future Grand Prize" -1987 ("Writers of the Future L. Ron Hubbard Gold Award ") And was nominated for" Locus "-1989. Orson Scott Card wrote a very favorable review comparing Wolverton`s novel to The Forever War (1974) by Joe Haldeman. In 1996, Wolverton`s story "After a Lean Winter" reached the final of Nebula. He currently works as a writer, but is occasionally involved in the production of computer games for the Saffire Corporation. Recent projects he has contributed to include the design for StarCraft Brood War, hailed as "one of the most elegant PC game extensions in history." Wolverton is also the Coordinating Judge of the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Competition, the largest science fiction and fantasy research program for new authors. His responsibilities include evaluating entries, publishing an annual anthology and conducting writing master classes. Under a pseudonym, David Farland began to write a brilliant fantasy, namely the cycle "Lords of the Runes". Wolverton currently lives in Orem, Utah with his wife and five children, and teaches science fiction and fantasy writing at Brigham Young U. The writer loves going outdoors and considers fishing and camping to be his favorites their occupations. He also enjoys animals and has recently started breeding purebred Irish Setters. Wolverton plans to open a kennel in the next few years.  BIBLIOGRAPHY Stories
