Desperate to free his mother from a caste of ruthless elven assassins, Leesil joins his beloved Magiere, the sage Wynn, and their canine protector, Chap, on a difficult journey through mountains and harsh winter. Should they survive the hardships of wilderness, they still face the perils of the mysterious Elven Territories.

Unbeknownst to them, they`ve been united at the command of Chap`s Fay kin to forge an alliance against the forces of dark magic. But now Chap must guard his companions from enemies and allies-not always certain which is which. And as they uncover the truth, they discover just how close the enemy has always been.

A book by Barb Hendy

She was born in 1963. In 1993-1995 she studied at the University of Idaho, specializing in Composition Theory and Creative Writing. During her studies, she changed many jobs, including teaching in a kindergarten. From 1993 to 2006 she taught English in college, taught various courses, and later switched to teaching business writing online. During this period of his life, the first stories and novels of Barb were written. In May 2006, she and her husband quit their jobs and devoted themselves entirely to writing. Barb currently lives with her husband JS Hendy in southern Portland, Oregon, USA, an hour`s drive from the coast. She has a daughter, Jacqueline, who lives in Houston, Texas with her husband Paul. Barb considers “The Mists of Avalon” by Marion Zimmer Bradley, “Ship`s Hill” by Richard Adams and “The Witching Hour” by Anne Rice as her favorite works. And while she`s not a fan of all of Anne Rice`s works, she sincerely considers The Witching Hour to be one of the most impressive American novels. Currently, Barb no longer reads science fiction, fantasy or dark fantasy in such volumes, preferring the mainstream and historical novels. Barb`s works have been published in numerous genre magazines and anthologies. She considers her most successful novels to be novels from the "Dampir" (Noble Dead Saga) series, written together with her husband. In 2008, Barb sold the idea for the solo cycle "The Vampire Memories" to Roc Books and is now working on two large projects in parallel. Official site https://www.barbhendee.org/ Taken from the site http://fantlab.ru/
