Katie (Katie) McAlister was born in 1964. The future writer became addicted to reading from early childhood, preferring to spend a lot of time in libraries "with her nose buried in piles of books." But before devoting herself to literature, Katie tried several jobs - cleaning bird skeletons, soldering fans, programming in Fortran and being a sales assistant. The turning point in McAllister`s career (at least she says with humor herself) was the contract under which she was supposed to write a book about some kind of software, but, alas, the strict publisher "forbade inserting dialogue and love scenes there." Then Katie began to write the most real fiction novel in which she could write anything. It took her two years to work on her first book, and in 2002 her first book, the Noble Intentions (which later became the first book of the [Noble Historical] trilogy), was published. Romance stories became McAllister`s trademark - consistently issuing three or four books a year of various genres - from detective and paranormal mysticism to teen-oriented stories - she always found a place for love and romance in them. However, this same consistency allowed critics to quickly notice the typical features of all the characters of the writer, sometimes as if written out as a carbon copy. Fortunately, the second trademark is humor, which more than redeems some stereotyped images. Among McAlister`s hobbies, of course, is her favorite reading, and besides him: "Embroidering, tormenting my husband, playing with my dogs and - what surprises me myself - the online game" The World of Warcraft "to which I, unfortunately , addicted. " The writer signs her work for teenagers with the pseudonym Katie Maxwell, and detective novels - Kate Marsh. Lives with her husband and a couple of dogs near Seattle.  "If I hadn`t become a professional writer, I would have been a professional reader! Seriously, I probably would have become a librarian or bookseller. I just really love books!"
