Sherrilyn Kenyon / Kinley MacGregor Sherrilyn Kenyon , also known as [url = / a / 18160] Kinley MacGregor [/ url] , was born in Columbus, Georgia in 1965 year. She inherited her love for everything that “inspires fear at night” from her mother, who adored paranormal romances. Father Kenyon left the family when the girl was only 8 years old, leaving his wife to raise Sherrilyn, her brothers and older sister Trish alone. From early childhood, Kenyon wanted to become a writer. She wrote her first story - a horror story about a girl who killed her brothers - at the age of 7. At 14, Sherrilyn sold her first work and continued to write in school newspapers, local newspapers and magazines until graduation. Despite her experience as a writer, Kenyon enrolled in the Savannah College of Art and Design for the Fine Arts Department. After several months of study, without enough funds to pay, she transferred to the history department.

When Kenyon turned 20, she decided it was time to use her writing experience to conquer new heights. By the time Sherrilyn finished her first book and was ready to send the manuscript to the publisher, her family was in disaster. Her brother Buddy has passed away. This event completely devastated Kenyon, discouraging all desire for creativity.

3 years later, Kenyon got married and the newlyweds moved to Richmond, Virginia. Finding a job in a new place was not easy. And when her childhood friend - the editor of a local magazine - offered to write her some articles, Sherrilyn, happily agreed. Although she hasn`t written a single word since her brother`s death.

Two years later, Sherellin published her first book, which was soon followed by five more. Although her works won several awards, publishers were in no hurry to sign contracts with Sherrilyn.

Sherrilyn received her doctorate in history, but teaching did not bring much income and after the birth of her second child, Kenyon decided to change her professional field, becoming a web designer. And as before, she devoted every free minute to creativity. After completing the manuscript, Fantasy Lover, Sherrilyn sent it to several publishers, but was refused everywhere. For almost 4 years (1194-1998) she was unable to sell any of her manuscripts.

In 1997, Sherrilyn wrote her first novel about pirates. This book was very different from all her previous works, so Sherrilyn decided to take the pseudonym Kinley MacGregor - the maiden name of her great-grandmother.

Even being published under the pseudonym Kinley McGregor, Sherrilyn continued to work on the world of the Dark Hunters. Her first novel in this series was published in 1999 by St. Martin`s Press.

Typically, Sherrilyn writes 20-30 pages a day and can complete a novel in two weeks. In her free time, she plays the guitar, flute, piano and drum, as well as martial arts and sword fighting. Kenyon prefers a "gothic" style in clothes. Sherrilyn is currently married and has 3 sons. The entire family lives in the suburbs of Nashville, Tennessee.

She is a current member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Romance Writers Association, Horror Writers of America, and the Science Fiction Writers of America.
