Linwood Barclay / Linwood Barclay is a Canadian writer and journalist. The author of popular humorous columns in the largest publications in Canada. Until 2000, he wrote books in the genre of non-fiction; since 2004, seven thrillers have come out from under his pen. Linwood Barkley was born in the United States, but at the age of four he had to move with his parents to Canada. This was due to the fact that his father, a commercial artist, was given a position in an advertising agency. Spent his teenage years helping manage a cottage resort and trailer park. When Barkley was 16, his father died. After this tragic incident, Lynwood Barkley landed his first job at the Peterborough Examiner, a small Ontario daily. In 1982 he joined the staff of the Toronto Star, the Canadian newspaper with the largest circulation. He worked in positions such as Assistant Editor, Proofreader, News Editor, Life Editor, before writing a humor column in 1993. He was considered one of the most popular newspaper authors at the time. In 2008, he retired to focus entirely on writing books. From 1996 to 2000, he published four nonfiction books, including a memoir about life in a cottage community called Last Resort, which were nominated for the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humor [u] Comic Literature Award. In 2004, he began a detective series about a troubled know-it-all with paranoid manners. The first book, Bad Move, was followed by three more books in the same series: Bad Guys, Lone Wolf and Stone Rain. His first non-partisan thriller, No Time for Goodbye, was released in 2007 to critical acclaim and international acclaim. The book is sold all over the world and has been translated into nearly two dozen languages. Half a million copies were sold in Germany alone. His second unrelated book, Too Close to Home, was released in the fall of 2008. Linwood earned his BA in English from the University of Trent. He was fortunate enough to have wonderful teachers, especially the famous Canadian writer Margaret Lawrence , whom Linwood first met when she was working as a writer-teacher in Trent. And also with Kenneth Millar , who, under the pseudonym Ross MacDonald , wrote the acclaimed detective series about Lew Archer. It was in Trent that he met a woman who later became his wife. He has been married to Nisa, who has been a kindergarten teacher, for over thirty years. They have two children, Spencer and Paige. Lives in Burlington, Ontario with his wife and children.  Bibliography Series Zack Walker 2004 - 1.
