A book by Elaine Cunningham

Elaine Cunningham was born in New York on December 8, 1957, and currently lives in a city on the coast of New England. By profession, she is a history and music teacher, studied developmental psychology and sociology. Her hobbies include Celtic and Renaissance music, folklore and mythology, historical reconstruction and the making of historical costumes, and travel. She originally received her musical education as a singer, but has recently mastered the Irish flute and harp. In her own words, Elaine is an omnivorous reader, at times a musician and a keen layman who has more interests than free time. Of all the worlds in which she lives, the most beloved is the one that she shares with her husband William and her two sons, Andrew and Sean. Elaine Cunningham currently lives with her husband and sons in the United States in New England. Towards the age of thirty, Elaine took a course in the basics of fiction and began to try to write books. From an interview with Elaine Cunningham: “I started writing on the sly after the birth of my first son. Unfortunately, the stories I first tried to write - in the style of contemporary women`s novels - didn`t really match my personality and writing style. A good friend of mine, after reading one of the manuscripts, said: “Girl, you don`t have a romantic streak. Admit - you are not of this world. Maybe you should try writing fantasy? For some reason, this advice sunk into my soul. The next day, I came across the magazine "Writer`s Digest". Literally at the end of the magazine, in a small text, an announcement was typed about participation in the new book cycle of the Forgotten Realms world. I phoned the number listed with managing editor Mary Kirchoff and delved into the recommended books: old novels and everything currently in print. I quickly fell in love with Ed Greenwood`s world. The Magic Crystal by Robert Salvatore convinced me that this is a very good sandbox. I wrote an essay that ultimately became The Elven Shadow, my first book published.

" The Elf Shadow was published in 1991. Cunningham is best known for her books in the Forgotten Realms, most of which are about elves. Unfortunately, not many books have been translated into Russian. But those that readers could see on the bookshelves of Russian stores delighted the true lover of science fiction. In our country, only one of its series has been fully published: "Starlight and Shadows", which includes three books: "Drow`s Daughter", "Web" and "Raven`s Wings". Also published were such books as "Elven Song", "Elven Vengeance". In total, the American writer wrote about 15 different works that are very popular in her homeland.  Website
