Born in 1940, electronics scientist and science fiction writer Bud Sparkhawk graduated from the University of Maryland with a mathematics degree, then served as an electronics technician for the US Air Force, worked in computer science "for large corporations, government, and the military," and I devoted all my free time to yachts. He published his first science fiction story "The Case of the Tomkins Battery" in Analog magazine in 1976, but after several publications he fell silent for almost a decade and a half. As a science fiction writer, Sparkhawk re-established himself only in the early 1990s. Now he has five novels about Sam Boone, two novels from the series "Zero Probability" - "Dark Deeds of the Emperor" (2000) and "Evolution" (2000), as well as more than two dozen stories in magazines and anthologies....
