Robert Lynn Asprin (English Robert Lynn Asprin) (1946-2008) - American science fiction writer. Born June 22, 1946 in St.

John`s, Michigan, USA. He is known to most readers as the author of the MYTH cycle, whose novels tell about the adventures of the Great Skive and his friends. "Mythical cycle" (English MythAdventures - mythical adventures, homophonically misadventures - accidents) is a vivid example of humorous and captivating fantasy. $$ 0 $$ Biography * 1964-1965 - Attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, Michigan. * 1965-1966 - served in the US Army. Asprin`s first novel, Cold Financial Wars, an expanded version of an earlier story of the same title, was published in 1977. Over the next several years, he worked (along with his future wife, Lynn Abby) on the Thieves World series as an author and editor. Perhaps this was the first project when several authors wrote about the same world at once. As the series expanded, Asprin lost control of many authors and the series ended in anarchy. In 2002, Lynn Abby revived the series with Sanctuary. A series of graphic novels was published in the mid-1980s, and several authors, including the famous Andrew Offutt, Janet Morris and David Drake, published novels about their characters. Also in 1979, Asprin began a series of funny adventures of Skiva and Aaz in the Myths series. It told about a demon who lost his powers, and his inept human disciple, about their travels in different worlds in search of wealth and glory. The Myths series is full of humor. Some of the early Myths novels were adapted for comic strips by Phil Folio and others. Released in the 1990s, the novels of the Shutt series about a rabble-based space combat unit are in many ways reminiscent of the adventures of Skiv and Aahz. Due to a number of personal and financial problems, Asprin was discontinued in the 1990s. When these problems were resolved, in the late 1990s and early 2000s, he published several novels with author Peter Heck, Jody Lynn Nye, and Linda Evans. The novels were sequels to the Myths and Shutt series, as well as new ones, the beginning of new episodes.  UPD: 05/24/2008 09:43 AM The famous science fiction writer Robert Lynn Asprin passed away in the United States at the age of 62. Asprin died on the morning of May 22, 2008 in his own home in New Orleans, reports the writer`s official website .
