The Greatest Western Writer Of The 21st Century

With his monumental Mountain Man and Eagles series, William W. Johnstone has become America`s most popular Western writer. Now, with J.A. Johnstone, he unleashes the Sidewinders, two honest Texas cowboys with an uncanny knack for lighting wildfires everywhere they go...

Home Sweet Deadly Home

If there`s anything better than coming home to Texas, it`s getting paid to do it. For Scratch Morton and Bo Creel, always on the hunt for funds, the job is taking three vicious criminals from Arkansas to Tyler, Texas for trial. Little do they know that one of the criminals, the one that`s a beautiful woman, is the most dangerous of all. Soon the journey home turns into a race for buried treasure, a shoot-out, and another double cross—until Scratch and Bo are making one last mad, bullet-sprayed dash through the land of their birth... or the land of their death...

Johnstone is an American writer born in Missouri on October 28, 1938. He grew up in a wealthy family, his father worked as a government official, his mother was a teacher. After serving in the army, William worked for 16 years in radio. And from the beginning of the 70s he began to publish and gained fame as the author of numerous Westerns. Among his works there are novels written in the genre of science fiction and horror, for example, his only book published in Russia, the mystical "Children`s Games" (1993). Johnstone died on February 8, 2004 at the age of 65 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He authored about two hundred novels, which are still being reprinted and published, thanks to his wife and co-author J.E.

Johnstone. William Johnstone about himself: Many years ago, when I was just a boy, my father told me: "Bill, it doesn`t matter what you do in life, the only thing that matters is to be the best William Johnstone." I have never forgotten these words. And now, many years later, having written about two hundred books, I like to think that I am still trying to be the best William Johnstone. I want and try to make each new book better than the previous one and to present a well-told story to my readers. It is important for me to create such types of characters and behavior that can be identified with someone, to recognize in them real people who are faced with problems. If one of my characters destroys an enemy in the middle of the book, you can be sure that there are clear reasons for this. My job as a storyteller is to entertain you, my readers, and be completely confident that you enjoy my books as you paid your hard-earned money for. This is not just a job that I do. I really appreciate the feedback from the readers. You are my gold, your opinion is really important to me. Official website: www.williamjohnstone.net
