A book by Katherine Coulter

Catherine Coulter is a literary pseudonym and maiden name Jean Catherine Coulter Pogany , an American writer of romantic thrillers and historical romance novels. She was born on December 26, 1942 in Cameron County, Texas. After completing her bachelor`s degree at the University of Texas, Coulter attended a course at Boston College and received her master`s degree in early 19th century European history. He currently lives in Marin County, California with her husband Anton Pogany. Since childhood, Catherine grew up in a creative atmosphere: her father is an artist and singer, her mother is a pianist who ended her concert career, and her grandmother, who died early (at 37), was also a writer. Katherine wrote her first 2 novels (15 pages each) at the age of 14, in the 1st year at the University of Texas she wrote poetry. After university, Katherine worked in New York as a speechwriter for the president of a Wall Street company. Her husband was studying to be a doctor, and she had to while away lonely evenings reading romance novels of not the highest level. Catherine threw a particularly bad book across the room one evening, claiming that even she could do better. The husband took up the challenge and spent two days off developing the plot for a gothic love story. In the evenings, Coulter wrote her first book. After finishing the novel, she sent it to the editors of Signet, the leading publisher of love in the Regency era. Three days later, Signet offered her a three-book deal. The first novel, The Autumn Countess, was published by Penguin Books in 1978. By 1982, Coulter was earning enough to quit her job and become a professional writer. Since then, she has written over fifty books. Forty-two times in a row since 1988, her novels have been New York Times bestsellers. On average, Coulter publishes one historical novel and one romantic thriller every year. She is now preoccupied with reworking most of her early Regency romance novels in order to turn them into larger historical novels.  Bibliography: [u] Regency [/ u] Baron Series The Wild Baron Berkley / Jove The Offer (orig.
